i’m sorry, i’m tired of this shit. there was no pronoun policing. i have encountered exactly three or four land acknowledgments in like ten years, and the most you’ll hear about “intersectionality” is in liberal nonprofits. this is just freefloating resentment masquerading as analysis.
Elissa Slotkin told Tim Alberta why her response to Trump's joint address did not touch on a laundry list of priorities from various advocacy groups.

"No Other Land," the Palestinian-Israeli made film showing the destruction of the occupied West Bank's Masafer Yatta by Israeli soldiers, just won the Oscar for Best Documentary.

It can't get a distributor in the US.

Which tells you everything about censorship in the US.

it’s so cool that we are at the whims of this reactionary force of groypers that don’t understand anything, lead by the dumbest guy ever seen in history

If this is the direction for democrats, we’re done.

“We can deregulate smarter and better”

Maybe present an alternative vision for the country? Stop buying into this waste and efficiency bullshit
It's not about lobbyists. It's about the politicians on this platform deciding to neuter DOGE by doing a better version of what DOGE wants to do. Legislatively.

The issue isn't the goal of efficiency and savings. That's important.

The issue is the process to get there.
Mark legitimately, what’s stopping you from hiring the lobbyists to get this done? I’ll donate but I’m just a millionaire, you’ve got the institutional money to help get this done

It’s very interesting how media outlets like 404 and Wired who do tech and not DC cocktail party circuit slop have covered the Musk angle best because their guiding light isn’t getting a ticket to next weeks book release party in Georgetown
Scoop: The databases powering DOGE.gov are insecure, and people outside the government have already pushed their own updates to the site to prove it:

Waking up to pictures of dead Palestinian children every day for 15 months was boring
Too many people didn't appreciate just how wonderful, how glorious, it was that the daily news cycle during Biden's presidency was boring as fuck.

One element here is millions of zoomers watched the president fund and arm the mass killing of children on their TL for over a year so all the precious media pearl-clutching about “political violence” now feels exceptionally empty. Like, what world do you live in? That ship sailed a long time ago
Watching TV news each night and their coverage of the Luigi Mangione case is honestly kind of shocking at this point. I’ve never seen a bigger gap between the way it’s described on TV and the way it’s discussed online and in real life. I always like to think of historical parallels but I’m failing.

The main gripe with DST isn’t the clocks changing, it’s the days getting shorter. That’s it
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy say they’re hunting for ways to make American government more efficient. One possible target: the semiannual changing of the clock that so many Americans dislike.
No more daylight saving time? Musk, Ramaswamy muse on ending clock changes.
The “Department of Government Efficiency” may target the century-old practice, the men suggested on social media. It was not immediately clear whether they were serious.
