'scuse me, while I pierce the blue sky. all posts run the full gamut from bad to worse, it's the Mike G guarantee (or your money back). Autistic hipster (dx'd before it became cool), he/him.

Last Sunday I helped my beautiful friend peacefully move on. It's estimated he spent over 15 years in this world, 12.5 of which I was lucky enough to be a part of. Thank you for everything Marker, I love you and I will miss you.
People like Will Stencil hate mutual aid because they never got involved in this stuff to improve lives but rather to have a vehicle to prove they are smarter and more virtuous than others. Direct assistance cuts out the middle man positions they see as their lifeblood.

If only the Dodgers hired for talent rather than diversity, they might've actually won the past couple World Series championships!

I'm honestly surprised they were ever allowed, but in retrospect I shouldn't be. A massive societal failure regardless.
unpopular opinion: touch screens in cars should be banned (i am not afraid to be unpopular)

reasonable compromise opinion: touch screens in cars should be standardized across all makes and models (i am not unwilling to compromise if you dummies gotta have your touch screens)

We really do need more media bashing small town life. Society's failure to shame people for choosing this terrible way to live in 2025 is a big reason for our current predicament.
unironically a good idea

People laugh at me, till they find out what my cybertruck can really do.
joining the "cybertruck owners only" group on fb is one of the best decisions i've ever made. every so often when i'm scrolling through fb getting pissed off, i get to see a little treat like this

It's so wild how this is like a "who's who" list of cities right wing fascists like to use as an example of how cities are bad and getting worse because "woke" or whatever.
I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

Ok then give all the raw oysters to me, I don't give a shit.
The CDC has announced a Salmonella outbreak linked to raw oysters in 22 states. A survey about twenty years ago found Salmonella in 7.4% of sampled oysters in the US, with considerable variation from bay to bay. Oysters are delicious boiled, broiled, fried or baked!

The more every fucking cooking YouTuber tells me I must get a mandolin, the more committed I am to never buying one. I'll risk my fingers in a gruesome knife chopping injury thank you very much, not all of us have the extra space or cash for another god damn gadget.

Having seen the video here, "killed in a car crash" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in describing what actually happened. Making the choice to drive a crappy Ferrari over 100 mph through a tunnel on a narrow mountain road, does tend to lead to these sorts of results.

Nice, very nice. Now how about an MBTA blue lind extension to Lynn?

Here's an animation of an orbital ring. It surrounds the Earth in a continuous loop and could serve as a platform to launch vehicles from low-Earth orbit.

The country cheered when a guy assassinated the CEO of a private healthcare company but sure, what people really hate is Medicaid.
Scalise: "Does everybody in America want to be on Medicaid? That's what Democrats are doing."

My initial reaction to this is that it's so hard to make it these days without material support from parents, these moms must be uniquely terrible for their kids to turn that down, but who am I kidding. These parents likely aren't giving anyone shit (even if they can well afford to).

"potentially divisive" sorta like how the chiefs might "potentially" miss the playoffs this NFL season.
BREAKING: The U.S. Coast Guard has quietly enacted a policy downgrading swastikas and nooses from hate symbols to “potentially divisive.” The manual is now in effect, despite public outrage and warnings after the draft was revealed last month. (Washington Post)

A shame such a great career ends like this. Guess he has no choice now but to run for Governor of Texas.
It’s official: the Kansas City Chiefs will miss the playoffs after three straight Super Bowl appearances 👀

Is their dynasty over for the foreseeable future?

Can't read the article cause of the paywall but I'm still gonna summarize it in one word:

Dongs.
ICYMI Kyle Schwarber ranks only 70th among active players in WAR.

So why did the Phillies just make him one of the highest paid players in baseball?

I tried my best to explain the unique qualities that make him bigger than his WAR www.nytimes.com/athletic/687...
Kyle Schwarber: A unique contract for a unique player — and Phillies legend in the making
Why has there never been a contract like this? Possibly because it’s practically impossible to find another player quite like this.

Watching every film at 2x speed so I have more time to hustle and grift.
I was asked what I thought now that #pluribus has reached seven episodes.
I’m not seeing any of the liberal subtext some folks are seeing. But I’ve learned to watch the show by fast forwarding through the long, artsy stretches where no one speaks.
There were exactly 2 lines of interesting dialogue.

I hate that we live in a society where one's trust level with dentists is on par with car mechanics, but at least a vehicle you can park and forget about or just ditch altogether, whereas teeth are locked inside your mouth and can cause immense pain if someone fucks them up.

"parents rights" is by definition just a "nicer" term for legalized abuse. There is literally no reason a person would need rights specific to being a parent other than they want to abuse their child and face no repercussions from society.
This whole so-called “parents rights” movement the right has taken up and the left is supposed to kowtow to for votes is so obviously anti-child it really bothers me to see it presented as anything other than justification for abusive “parenting” and disregard for actual science on child development

A couple years ago over at the "other site" I got a good zinger in on David Simon when the Mets beat the Orioles, triggering his memory of the Ron Swoboda world series catch half a century ago. Now Alonso is going to Baltimore so the joke is ultimately on me 😭. I'm tired, not wired!
