Last Sunday I helped my beautiful friend peacefully move on. It's estimated he spent over 15 years in this world, 12.5 of which I was lucky enough to be a part of. Thank you for everything Marker, I love you and I will miss you.

I just found out Bari's parents are one of those couples where the man is a conservative Republican and the woman is a "liberal" Democrat and they find it "endearing" rather than a potential clash of values. This explains so much about why she is so annoying.

The Senate basically only exists so that there can always be 100 random dickheads that get to do whatever they want with no accountability and also ensure the country itself stays in hell. The filibuster generally serves this goal.
one thing i find crazy-making is the idea that getting rid of the filibuster would make congress a purely majoritarian institution. bicameralism itself is counter-majoritarian! equal state representation is counter-majoritarian! the fact that senate elections are staggered is counter-majoritarian!

So incredibly embarrassing for Boston that on the night NYC gets to celebrate Mamdani, our area's best chance to elect a comparably exciting mayor instead goes to a milquetoast white guy "progressive" with far less political experience. Shame on Somerville!
