One day I was cleaning outside when I saw this little guy in my bin. I fished it out & put it on my willow. 🪲☀️

One day I was cleaning outside when I saw this little guy had fallen into my bin, fighting for its little precious life. I carefully fished it out & put it on my willow to dry and recover.

A sleek Red-breasted Merganser swims through rippling dark water, droplets flying around its body. The bird has a spiky crest of brown feathers on its head, a long thin reddish-orange bill, and mottled pale-grey plumage on its neck and chest. For the #BirdOfTheDay theme of #Least, here is a bird I’ve only seen once, the Orange-crowned Warbler (Leiothlypis celata) above Yaquina head along the Oregon coast. The Pacific birds are the brightest in coloration.

This little guy was singing his heart out, at the top of a small hill overlooking the Oregon coast. He was relatively bold about not staying hidden.
