Had an 18 hour travel day on Wednesday, going from door-to-door from @shinyopals.bsky.social flat to my apartment, but have now slept lots and updated my budget and am about to do every single laundry. Really good to be home where my cats are

hi! maybe you remember me from the menu i made for my cat, which hit surprisingly big a little while ago. i made some menus for other people's pets in exchange for donations to pro-trans organisations. now i'm doing it again, but for food banks.

have you heard of this new thing where you are allowed to be angry and to express it? and that it's not an inherently violent or dangerous thing, to be angry? Yeah turns out they actually launched this at least three or four decades ago I just never got the memo. Self-respect DLC is out too

I genuinely think it's important, politically, to read good news items. Believing that the better world is possible, and seeing evidence to shore up that belief, can be important for resisting despair. Medical breakthroughs and stories of liberation and justice are both a part of that, for me

On the other hand, I had a couple pounds of the last of the blue (Jupiter) grapes of the season in the fridge, and last night I made grape juice for the first time*. There's a pint jar of deep purple nectar in my fridge now

I've spent the last several months filling up my spare time with Activities and Plans and Friends. (Inherently valuable and it forces me to stop working at my ostensible day job.) But my apartment is a disaster and I'm away from home for most of Oct 20-Nov 5 for work followed by fun & I'm STRESSED

I am begging Canadians to understand that Canada Post, like public transit, should not be a business - it's a service.

I'm genuinely not too fussed about writing rejections; having submissions rejected is just part of the process. I do get a little put out by the frequency with which 'we promise to tell you either way' publications and contests just don't actually do that

One thing I'll say about DC not only canceling Red Hood, but recalling the first issue and refunding stores for buying it, is that you can still get Neil Gaiman's work through them.
