Hot damn La Grazia was so good. Caught last night’s screening at SIFF and we’re still talking about it. Beautifully shot. At times funny and at times thoughtful on the topic of euthanasia. Definitely will be watching again. youtu.be/zvQn44a_IHo?...

Already off to a great start. First mayor (elect) in recent memory to call Starbucks out for their bullshit (saying this as an ex-partner AKA employee). Of course easy to not cross the picket line when you’re a real Seattlite in line at Monorail Espresso already.
Across the country, Starbucks workers are on an Unfair Labor Practice strike for a fair first contract, and I know which side I’m on. Baristas make Starbucks an extraordinarily wealthy company. They are entitled to their fair share of that wealth and to benefits and fair treatment on the job.

Just learning of the Republic of Rose Island (great Netflix dramatization of events Isola delle Rose). Sealand and Republic of Minerva vibes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republi... Every boy just wants to build a fort and have no one tell them what to do in it.

Been going to SIFF’s “Cinema Italian Style” the last few days and have caught every movie so far. One of my favorite Seattle film events. www.siff.net/programs-and... Runs through the weekend if you’re looking to do something different and an excuse to ride the Monorail in Seattle.

Why not simply walk to the stadium from your hotel 23 miles away or take advantage of the many fine public transit options in Arlington, Texas
FIFA's current parking prices will cost more than some actual match tickets at previous World Cups.

Parking and transportation have long represented an imposing challenge for the World Cup’s 16 North American host cities.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Well at least that eliminates the possibility of us losing at home to Portland. Great sawker season Sounders.

I was living in Nevada for the last nuclear test September 23, 1992. Operation Julin was the sequence of tests. We felt the ground shake at our home. My little sister would be born a month later. Never thought nuclear testing news would bring back fond memories.

Hi Rick Steves fucks. That is all.

Last June, more than 5 million Americans joined #NoKings rallies across the country, protesting President Trump's authoritarianism. And this Saturday, with your help, it's going to be even bigger and better.

Going to need the @seattlesubway.org plan built in subwaybuilder.com when it’s released. Need that real time census and redistricter data overlay to prove it out.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

“War ravaged Portland.”

I have seen things you baristas wouldn’t believe.

Attack kayaks on fire off the coast of Mill Ends Park. I watched powdered Voodoo doughnuts glitter in the dark near the Pittock Mansion gate. All these moments will be lost in time.

Great read. Enriched on a lot of what I knew about ATProto and made me want to build something on it.

By far the thing that’s made me feel the oldest lately is that I bought bulk coffee filters when I met my now wife. Enough for one every day for 10 years. I have 3 filters left.

Italian friend turned me on to this geopolitics magazine Domino. Only got through one article so far (solid writing, not western biased) but the charts, graphs, and design language are top. Definitely on the subscribe list once international mail gets back to normal.

Dinners only last so long in Europe because it’s impossible to find a server to order with or get the bill from. Has nothing to do with living the dolce vita and taking your time.
