The "Try and Stop Us" presidency has its answer, and you almost have to "admire" the level of brazen lawbreaking. They went all in and called the bluff of Congress, legacy media, and the judicial system. They said "try and stop us" and these institutions didn't, wouldn't, won't, or can't. SAD!

Trump says Machado doesn’t have the respect of Venezuela so can’t be leader. So much for all her Trump ass-kissing.

In the Trump press conference the MFer isn't even pretending this isn't about the oil. Even Bush and Cheny didn't say it this openly.

Looking at the Sky News retrospective of Maduro, I was struck by how much Trump and Maduro are basically mirror images of each other.

Both utterly buffoonish, authoritarian and cartoonishly corrupt. And both of them are really, really shit dancers.

This only happens as smoothly as it did if Maduro was sold out by people he thought were on his own side
Exporting Kavanaugh Stops. I guess the “Laws? What laws?” doctrine applies everywhere. Let’s save some money and just dissolve Congress.

Maduro is a brutal and oppressive dictator of Venezuela.

Trump has no legitimate legal basis for military action against Venezuela under United States or international law.

Both of those facts are simultaneously true.

This isn't just immoral but unbelievably stupid. Even if they capture or kill Madura (HUGE if) they'll have absolutely zero control over what happens next or who takes over. And as for the local population, people have a tendency not to chant "God bless America" when you've just bombed them.
so, uh, so far it doesn't seem like they got Maduro? or even went after him? was this just "let's bomb the shit out of Caracas"? what the fuck is the plan here?

I realize I am asking this of people who are possibly incapable of formulating one, but still

It’s a dark night when you look at the news and are forced to admit that you no longer believe in the power of the FIFA peace prize

So, I woke up this morning and America is bombing Venezuela, apparently without congressional authority.

I thought Donald Trump was supposed to be the peace president?

(Well obviously I didn't think that. I'm not a moron. But morons did.)

Israel’s ban on 37 humanitarian organisations, including Doctors Without Borders, from entering Gaza is another war crime.

The Green Party condemns this decision and calls for immediate international action to protect humanitarian actors.
