I've told this story on ContrabandCamp but it's worth sharing for BHM because it's one of the greatest stories ever.

A thread.

Proud father speaking. Very proud indeed. My daughter Camille has just completed this large canvas (oil and gouache), and I invite you to visit her online gallery at www.instagram.com/p/DTvX1OBjW0.... After living and working in London, Oaxaca and Mexico City, she is now in Paris.

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

To catch everyone up: Senegal had the ball in the net but called off which was questionable, Morocco get a softttt penalty so Senegal protest to the point of leaving the pitch, finally come back & Diaz does the worst attempt at a panenka that Mendy saves after talking shit directly in his ear first

OK so Mendy comes back on, gets booked, shithouses a bit, and then catches a terrible penalty.
Extra time could last until Wednesday if people don't calm the hell down.
And now he's run off towards the dressing room, possibly to retrieve the rest of his team.
Yup - here they come! Mendy needs nerves of steel here...
Mane now calling Senegal back onto the pitch?
I think that was "act like men!" as he encourages his colleagues.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

So, I've turned 50, have a cold, it's chucking it down, the cat is acting weird since I went to the UK for a week and left her with a live-in sitter, and on Monday I start a course of medical treatment that means being picked up at 7.45 weekdays for 3 weeks. And Man United have just scored.

Bleah.

'Alright pal, got plans for the #BigGardenBirdwatch?'

'Nah, just the usual... hang out of sight whilst she's doing the count, then touch down once the hour's over. You?'

'Classic. Planning some fly-bys with a few of the boys, but we'll only land one at a time.'

'Niiice.'

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo
