A new four-lane highway cutting through tens of thousands of acres of protected Amazon rainforest is being built for the COP30 climate summit in Belém, Brazil.

It aims to ease traffic to the city, which will host more than 50,000 people in November.

The White House asserted today that it would control who gets to cover the president in the White House and via the White House pool for the first time in our history - providing an authoritarian-style mechanism to shape coverage and retaliate against disfavored outlets. Right out of the textbooks.

Her story has shaken up metro Detroit. It's very cold up here and she didn't get the help she needed even after calling the city and multiple agencies.

She, her mom, and her kids slept in a van. Ran out of gas.

Her 9 year old & 2 year old died from hypothermia.

I can't stop thinking about her. 💔
“I regret having to sleep out there so bad. I tell them, ‘I’m sorry, but I tried.’”

These kids deserved our protection. This mother deserves our protection. We are collectively failing one another.
