I used to wonder
if people would take this virus
seriously again
if evidence emerged
that it increases the risk
of heart attack and stroke,
but now that researchers
have found just that
I find myself wondering
what more it will take.

Large majority of Canadians agree that the COVID-19 vaccine should be free

“Quebec and Alberta are the only provinces charging for the COVID-19 vaccine, which has been universally free since the pandemic.”

“This first use of the Charter’s notwithstanding clause in an act of the Alberta legislature is a stain upon your record & undercuts the credibility of the many calls you have made for all levels of government to respect the rights of citizens.”

ATA to Smith today.

Not even hiding the blatant entitlement anymore.

The Premier's Office continues to remove all checks and balances on its power.

The courts, the legislature, the Auditor General, independent agencies, the federal government, voters and candidates they don't like...

This is getting ridiculous.

The UCP attack on teachers gets worse, as more details emerge.
Two things heard today:
1. Schools have been told to take teacher attendance and report it to the government every single day.
(Smith is MIA, but that’s different)
2. Teachers are only paid for about 200 contracted days per year (1/3)

Looking ahead to next week and the prospect that the UCP will introduce back-to-work legislation to end the teachers' strike...

Rumour has it they are considering invoking both time allocation and the notwithstanding clause.

Here's why that's doubly dubious.+

We are at the point where Danielle Smith would rather violate charter rights and create a constitutional crisis…

Instead of paying teachers fairly and giving kids the classrooms they need.

Read that again.

Because this is where we are.

The UCP quietly released the 3rd party report into CorruptCare on Friday afternoon, hoping it would get buried in news around the ATA strike and municipal elections.

Here's a reminder: Judge Wyant was given very narrow scope. The scandal involves wider political interference beyond policies.

Got off the plane and walked into a drug store in Ottawa and got my COVID vaccine in under 5 minutes. No line up. No appointment. No cost.

Was even asked if I wanted Moderna or Pfizer.

It’s unconscionable that we can’t get this same level of service in Alberta.

UCP = Underfund Collapse Privatize

Enjoy your COVID shots while you can get ‘em.

We are paying for them now. With manufactured scarcity, the cost will increase.

This is awful.

If you do not order your COVID or FLU vaccines in Alberta by December 15,2025 for the 2026-2027 season you can not get a vaccine. This is proof that #UCP does not want anyone getting vaccinated. Danielle Smith #Antivax supporter.

I've received an 'exclusive' invite to try Nature's new 'research assistant', which will burn down a forest to provide a 'summary of the paper' I'm reading and I have SUCH exciting news for them, that's called an 'abstract' and the actual authors already wrote it for me, no forest-burning required.

I booked a COVID shot in BC, booked a flight, and plan to visit my 90-year-old father.

It was cheaper than getting a COVID shot in Alberta.

Medical tourism to BC is the new Alberta Advantage.

Smith is a travesty.

As of today, Alberta officially has the lowest minimum wage in Canada. It hasn't increased since 2018, and that is unacceptable.

The UCP's refusal to act has left too many Albertans struggling to make ends meet for too long.

We need to raise the minimum wage and index it to inflation. Now.
