"To those that can hear me, I say: do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people."
Powdered Wigs and Screaming
Because someone is on the ball, Turner Classic is playing (among other WWII films) The Great Dictator today. If you haven't seen it, please do. It was produced by Charlie Chaplin in the late 1930s,…

This is the best take. Why the hell would I want to stick around here when I'm out of this realm of existence? It was real. Deuces.

Vampires, by the way, have the worst luck tbh
Sorry but I’m just not buying this whole “unfinished business” theory of haunting, like once I’m a ghost the very last thing I’m doing is hanging around to check off a few more things on my to-do list I am OFF the clock

Me watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers: This is LITERALLY the worst case scenario, everybody's fucked. It's curtains. Game over.

Me watching Pluribus: 🥺 It's just a sensitive little virus that's taken over the majority of humanity, don't yell at it!! 😖

How do you spend your whole life learning American history, calling yourself a patriot only to not be able to recognize a tyrant when he shows up? And not only not recognize him become a psychophant who defends everything he does?

The highest court in the land won't stand up for the people in a time of civil injustice.

The people who are on it delivering "justice" are corrupt ghouls bought and paid for by fascists.

Good luck getting anything done as long as they continue to act corruptly with no consequences.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows the Trump administration to temporarily suspend SNAP funding for November. @jenpsaki.msnbc.com reports on "The Briefing."

People (you know who) who fuck around with basic human necessities for no other reason than political and monetary gain deserve nothing good in this life.

If this entire neo-fascist republican regime isn’t heavily tried/fined/jailed after this shit is (hopefully) over, then justice isn’t just blind, it’s entirely non-existent.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

I've been playing Frostpunk 2, a famously depressing city manager, to cheer myself up about the social and moral decay of America. Oddly enough it's been working.

Balancing it with Whisper of the House, an extremely cozy game, to help temper my apathy and despair with wholesomeness and warmth.

Dimple actions for this month if you can spare the time or capital:

- Donate to your local food bank
- Volunteer at your local food bank

Not knowing where your next full meal will come from, when you are already struggling, is extraordinarily mentally/ physically draining. Every little bit helps.

It's kind of funny (but nice!) to see cancelling Spotify become the trend-of-the-moment. I ditched them earlier this year after I learned about the Tr*mp dinner they threw. Haven't looked back.

Companies like this will never again get my money if I can at all help it. Fuck off, FAANG & Friends.
Spotify is running recruitment ads for ICE.

A platform built to connect creators and listeners is helping an authoritarian regime build up its secret police force.

But we’re not going to idly accept that. We’re going to make Spotify listen: indivisible.org/cancel-spoti... #CancelSpotify

Imagine trying to have “balanced discourse”
with people who are fine with allowing entire communities starve, because they can’t get their evil way. “Both sides” of what, my ass? Please.

The villains are in charge and the plot is lost.

This administration is a cabal of narcissistic thugs, bullies, liars and inept people. They embody the energy behind "let them eat cake" and truly deserve nothing but ire and disgrace.

The ire is slowly happening but it remains frustratingly unclear when the disgrace will happen.
The Trump Administration’s assertion that it can't use SNAP’s contingency reserves for SNAP benefits is contrary to:
▪️The plain language of the law
▪️Their own (now deleted) shutdown plan
▪️Guidance from prior Administrations

We have the receipts:
SNAP’s Contingency Reserve Is Available for Regular SNAP Benefits, as USDA and OMB Have Ruled in Past
The Administration must use all available options to fund November benefits for the 1 in 8 people in the U.S. who need SNAP to afford their grocery bill.

Excited to learn how many people are out of touch with how poor the majority of Americans are.

I used to be on food stamps. You don’t get on food stamps for the heck of it. It is because you do not make enough money from your $7.25/ hour job to eat.
