A week or two ago I made some jokes about how fucked up it was going to be for an eviscerated IRS to manage tens of millions of federal workers needing to all amend their W2s when the shutdown crossed into next year. Seeming like less of a joke every day.

I wonder if people in the media feel any sense of complicity or culpability for the shutdown continuing since they are the lever by which public pressure would be brought to bear. Feels like this shutdown has gotten scant coverage compared to past ones.
