In proper parliamentary style I have to declare an interest in this, as I’m a private renter and before moving to Sittingbourne I was a council housing tenant

Improving renters rights has been one of the biggest things for me so far in parliament, as is providing £39bn for building social housing
On 1 May 2026, we will abolish Section 21 ‘no-fault’ evictions when we switch on the new private rented sector tenancy system.

More details in our roadmap for implementing the Renters’ Rights Act published today 👇🏻

Clearly, I forgot to mention investors. 🤦‍♀️
Is there any section of society she hasn't pissed off with her flip flopping - pensioners, working people, parents, millionaires, gamblers - they've all been told they MIGHT and then MIGHT NOT have their taxes raised in the never quite forthcoming budget. 🙄

🔉What dangers does X pose to our democracy? And should the government stop using it?

Good to hear yesterday from @sundersays.bsky.social and @petergeoghegan.bsky.social on the immense risk of X as it ignores legal obligations and its owner tries to influence UK politics.

To knit together two stories: through intimidation, litigation & extortion, Trump is clearly trying to create a media ecosystem where nobody asks him about Epstein - or indeed anything discomfiting. It is appalling to see so many UK media individuals & institutions aiding & abetting his corruption.

In early stages of banking crisis, the media cried out to protect public sector front line workers. This led to an eradication of middle managers i.e. project, people, procurement mgrs. Resulting in a loss of expertise to oversee and train the next gen leading to untold major fuck ups costing £bns.
Here's my plea to the government, media and everyone else to stop treating NHS administrators as a problem to be eliminated, rather than the glue which holds the whole organisation together.
