“Let’s work together for compassionate solutions that will bring about our renaissance, not perpetuate more hardship in our neighborhoods,” said Wilson, before asking councilors to reject Morillo’s proposal on Wednesday.

Portland continues to shun businesses (re: Clr. Morillo questioning why we don't have enough $ for rent assistance after being told we are down $12 million in business license fees alone...do these folx not understand basic economics?!)

You? If you told me my mother loved me I'd ask for a second opinion. You're not a reliable source. Interesting point of view, but really, really, really biased.

@genderlessrodent.bsky.social serious question, it seems that you have never lived outside the U.S., you don't speak other languages, you don't really interact outside your echo chamber, what value do you offer the human experience?

@jonathanmaus.bsky.social Don't miss the part where Morillo lies and states the traffic team was disbanded because of racial profiling, the stats (which obviously the reporter Maus doesn't look at) show the traffic team has the best STOPS data. If one truely cares about traffic violence their only
Don't miss the part where Councilor Dan Ryan tries to make the point that when police stopped enforcing traffic laws in 2020-21 it correlated w a spike in crimes, then Councilor Morillo name-dropped my reporting to refute him.
City Councilor Tiffany Koyama Lane succeeded on many fronts last night: she made good on a campaign promise, she strengthened the city’s commitment to road safety, and she earned unanimous support from all of her colleagues in passing her Vision Zero resolution.

@councilormorillo.bsky.social Could you please post your complaint about The Oregonian Editorial on your official account after all it is about the council and shouldn't be on your personal account.

@councilorkanal.bsky.social listening to you talk about the need for infrastructure, if you take one things out of Safe Systems it will fail. You are setting VZ up for failure if you only focus on speed and infrastructure. Please educate yourself.

Watching the City Council discuss Vision Zero, @councilormorillo.bsky.social just lied about why the Traffic Team was cut. You need to stop lying and tell the truth. Patrol was stopping black and brown people. NOT Traffic, you can't tell what color someone's skin looking through radar gun.

People testifying in support of Vision Zero need to quit saying accident, it is a crash.

It's time for the Councilors to help the neighbors next to the ICE protests. Protesting iis a right, but it shouldn't impact our neighbors in a determintal way. @counciloravalos.bsky.social @ @councilormorillo.bsky.social @councilorgreen.bsky.social @councilortiffany.bsky.social

Well opps . . . damn!
Apparently the argument for why 7 Portland council members literally stole money from hungry children (not hyperbole) to give to non-profits who failed all performance tests is not corruption but merely gross incompetence.
A handful of councilors who voted for the full remand reportedly regretted their decision soon after the vote, council staff have told WW.

What is this consensus view of which he speaks. People aren't leaving because of a specific tax, they are leaving for a ton of reasons including the fact that we don't get services for our taxes.
It's frankly absurd that the consensus view has just decided to accept uncritically this idea that the P4A tax is driving people away, because you're hearing grumblings from a few very rich people who pay the small marginal tax. Share this report with your reps and senators.

Councilors Green and Kanal have been saying the Portland Police Bureau has a $21M increase this is a blatent lie -- as you can see from the City of Portland's own PPB budget summary.
