If there was any doubt left that Smith’s anti-trans policies were anything more than craven politics…

If this is accurate it means she’s delayed robbing charter rights to try and distract from another massive financial scandal.

This really is a must-read from @charlesrusnell.bsky.social. Not only does the AB gov't not care that private healthcare facilities are pulling specialists out of the public system — they're actively promoting it. Funnelling public 💰 to private pockets is the whole game 🤬.

When the UCP uses the notwithstanding clause tomorrow, watch defenders say, "it's totally legal" or "we had no choice."

They're deflecting.

The UCP wants to exact as much harm on transgender folks as possible. And they know their actions are not justifiable in a democratic society.

Who's next?

A Tyee investigation found that Calgary anesthesiologists are being scheduled by managers, in response to government directives, to work in for-profit chartered surgical facilities, sometimes against their will. #abpoli

She'll say that an apology has been issued and the matter is closed.

But what did she have to say a few months ago?

And more importantly, who agreed?

They do.

This was sent to sporting groups. Funding is being withheld because the UCP have created so much uncertainty with their centralization of control.

The UCP is widely expected to use the notwithstanding clause once again on Monday.

Why?

Not just because they can.
And not because they have to.

They're doing it deliberately, whether out of spite, laziness, or expediency.
