One of my really nice ex-students emailed me last week about university & it's aggravating there's still so much bad behaviour by lecturers (ppl cancelling lectures/seminars; ppl only doing 45mins of a 1-hr lecture; ppl setting group projects to cut down on marking...)

Watching Secret mall apartment; it's good

People think of artists as head-in-the-clouds dreamers but I love how practical they are

It's interesting what Slh can & can't do now - still really good at receiving it under pressure; absolutely cannot beat a full back any more
Truly don't understand them not having sold him yet

Hate-filled fake videos about London are everywhere. We've obtained a recording of a TikToker confessing to secretly filming Londoners in their homes for clicks.

He says it's not political. He just wants to make money from far-right anger.

Read what he says: www.londoncentric.media/p/london-tik...

According to these figures London is safer than many if not all major North American cities. In 2025, there were 1.1 killings for every 100,000 residents of London, compared to 2.8 in New York, 5.6 in Los Angeles, 10.5 in Houston and 12.3 in Philadelphia

Delap is quite athletically limited and fouls a lot
Wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't at a big 6 club in 2 years' time

The Mandelson/Epstein thing is so odd & so revealing about him - him not actually being interested in the creepy actual stuff that Epstein hooked most people with should have made him immune but he CANNOT resist networking with seemingly well-connected people(!)

Grade inflation in high schools harms students.

GPAs rose by about a quarter of a letter grade over the past decade, even among students with similar test scores.

This new working paper shows grade inflation lowers future test scores, high school graduation, college enrollment, and earnings.

In the old system, institutions had temporal buffers, which meant they could verify before public judgment cohered. In the new system, those buffers have collapsed. Meaning now stabilises for the public in hours, long before institutional processes can finish.

On my MA a few years ago some of the other students volunteered for a BBC survey/market research thing where whey were asked lots of questions about podcasts and radio and so on

It was fairly clear the BBC didn't really understand the new media/competition and what young listeners wanted
