The way I view this is, we know inherently that the law will not save us but that doesn't mean you still can't use it to slow them down. Make them work for it. Do not give them power they do not have. Make them fight for every inch of power.
I know it's frustrating when lawyers point out when something the administration is doing is not legal. But responding with "the law doesn't matter anymore" is really unhelpful and defeatist. Clarifying the law is important because it reminds us not to comply in advance and to resist and take action

A disorienting moment: Trump is consolidating autocratic power in areas where there's an easy path to do so. But in other areas he's facing deep institutional resistance and people are refusing to abandon the rule of law. Here he's weak and failing.

Thoughts on that:

Republicans: "transgenderism must be eradicated."

Trans people: "they're trying to eradicate us."

Republicans: "Saying we want to eradicate you is violent extremism."
The Heritage Foundation is going after me this morning calling me a terrorist because I am accurately stating what they are intending to do. Michael Knowles at CPAC explicitly called for the "eradication of transgenderism."

I'll continue to speak the truth of what is being done to my community.

This is far beyond occasional critique, it's stalker behavior. When I was representing survivors of domestic violence and trafficking in NYC, this is the kind of red flag that would be used to secure an order of protection in family court.

What Alabama did here is entirely reminiscent of what they did to civil rights attorneys in the 1950's. It's history rhyming.

I spoke to @theintercept.com about a bonkers bill that would let Marco Rubio, who thinks pro-Palestine op-ed writers are terrorists, revoke passports for whoever he deems a supporter of terrorism.

It would also let a future Democratic administration target those it dislikes the same way.

Marco Rubio wants the power to revoke the passports of anyone caught criticizing the Leader. Compare: Gesetz zum Schutze des deutschen Blutes und der deutschen Ehre, Sep 15, 1935, which does the same thing and appears to be taken as a model.
