Daniel Levy from 2001 to 2017 was, for me unquestionably, one of the best chairmen in football. Ran Spurs exactly the way a football club of that size ought to have been.

2018 to present a different story and it’s, belatedly, the right time for change. Foundations are all there.

The clearest picture of corporate greed in this country is CEO-to-worker pay ratios.

At the 100 lowest-paying major US companies, CEO pay averaged $17.2M in 2024.

Median worker pay at these companies was just $35,570.

That’s a ratio of 632 to 1.

How can anyone defend this?

So if this piece on the Pentagon review of AUKUS is accurate, the choice to be presented to Australia is either: do you want to be shaken down for more billions in cash with no guarantee of refunds if the subs don't come, or do you want to shred your sovereignty? www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...

Here’s the bottom line for what’s going on with Grok - if the owner of the website is putting his thumb on the scale hard enough for the chatbot to turn into Goebbels, you should be deeply concerned about what he’s doing to the algorithm that you can’t so easily see, and what it’s doing to you

Trump is threatening 200% tariffs on Australia's 3rd biggest export, pharmaceuticals. US big pharma hates our PBS – it buys medicine cheap & passes savings to Australians.

Aus Gov can look after Australians by standing firm & not subjecting us to US prices.

One of FIFA’s biggest mistakes (which isn’t surprising considering their inherent sexism) is not launching the women’s Club World Cup first. It’s actually desired and would be so well received, which would have laid the blueprint for the men and given FIFA proof of concept to sell.
on a purely theoretical level, the failure of the Club World Cup is fascinating

you have famous teams, committed to winning because of the prize pool, in new and unusual matchups, a set of brand new underdogs, playing in cities where high-level football is rare

and no one cares

The unique genius of The Stadium is that it has alienated so many footy followers.

I love Tassie footy and we need a team. But the AFL’s stadium ultimatum takes a special kind of arrogance
The still unborn Tasmanian Devils are now front and centre in the island’s culture wars. It didn’t have to be like this.

Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Especially when you’ve made a bad deal.

Case in point, in the space of a week, Melbourne Victory has gone from minority owner 777 Partners to minority owner Tony Bloom.

Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Just ask Melbourne Victory, who have divested "vampire lenders" 777 Partners and brought in Brighton owner Tony Bloom.
