Football executives appear two times: the first as tragedy, the second as farce.

My piece on Fabio Paratici’s brief return to Tottenham, his view on Thomas Frank and why he’s heading back to Italy after three months.

A lot of people are saying this!
I'm all for rebranding the Champions League play-offs as The Punishment Round.

The whole point of this season was that Tottenham should “compete on multiple fronts”. No-one could argue any more they are doing that.

My piece from Burnley:

Thomas Frank has failed to do what he was brought to Tottenham Hotspur to do
Ange Postecoglou was sacked because he could not get Spurs to compete domestically as well as in Europe - Thomas Frank has the same problem

When Ange Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham, the club cited the importance of competing on multiple fronts.

Over the course of Thomas Frank’s tenure, it has become clear that the same issues remain.

He has failed to do what he was brought in to do.

They played a montage of moment from Burnley's history here with 'Times Like These' earlier. Ruined it a bit. But they're now playing 'Ecstasy of Gold' as the players come out and it is extremely good. Suddenly feels like a World Cup final.

Burnley v Spurs for me today. Bissouma first start of the season. Really interested to see how he gets on. Gallagher also comes back in. All three CBs start together for first time since November.

Tottenham Hotspur have desperately needed a new experienced voice in the dressing room this season. Andy Robertson would be just that.

The 31-year-old signing this month would be like when Edgar Davids arrived in 2005.

1-0 Romero from Odobert's cross. Clever flicked finish to divert the ball. (Romero remains Spurs' best no9?) Spurs rewarded for a positive enterprising start.
