Hard game to analyse overall. Spurs started poorly. Steadily improved second half. Eventually got 2-1 up. Would have been a smash and grab. But they should have hung on. And they didn't.

What an ending - Richarlison and then De Ligt scoring at the end. 2-2 FT. Draw feels fair enough overall? Good fightback from SPurs at the end to get in front. Terrible defending to leave De Ligt unmarked for that equaliser.

Spurs are just miles better with Udogie and Odobert in double-tandem down the left.

Substitute Mathys Tel scores an equaliser! Good spin and finish after Udogie cross. 1-1. Just a few minutes after Tel's introduction for Simons was booed by some fans. (Frank resists the urge to cup his ear to the crowd)

Udogie on for Porro. Spurs still searching for an equaliser.

Romero and Palhinha both force saves from Lammens early in the second half. Spurs playing with a bit more purpose now.

Odobert is on for Kolo Muani

HT 0-1. Not a good game. Spurs have gone into their shell. Barely created anything (beyond Richarlison header). Conceded a very bad goal. Left side not working at all. Need to get Udogie and Odobert on.

1-0 to United. Spurs lose the ball, fail to clear their lines twice, Diallo stabs in a clever cross from the right, Mbeumo finds space between Porro and Johnson at the far post and heads in. Not a good goal to concede.

Half way through first half. Midfield a bit congested but both teams have looked more dangerous when able to get forward quickly. Simons and RKM have had some good moments. Richarlison failed to make contact with a header, Spurs' only real chance. 0-0.

Everyone's been thinking 'can Spurs create in open play', especially without Kulu, Maddison, Solanke and now Kudus and Bergvall today. But it really flowed tonight. Udogie made a big difference down the left. RKM is a big upgrade on Richarlison. Odobert and Simons both v good too. Simons' best game.
