Remain in light.

Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.

And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”

Baobab trees provide fruit, fibre, medicine and shelter for people & wildlife. Their survival depends on pollination by bats & moths. While these trees can cope with a wide range of environmental & climatic conditions, bats and moths may be more susceptible.

It’s the world’s rarest ape. Now a billion-dollar dig for gold threatens its future
Tapanuli orangutans survive only in Indonesia’s Sumatran rainforest where a mine expansion will cut through their home. Yet the mining company says the alternative will be worse
