My mom and I are having dinner in a diner that is currently filled with 95% senior citizens and what comes on the Christmas music mix but “Fairytale of New York.” They didn’t skip it, but they definitely lowered the volume. 😆

I love that my teenage son, who got to take charge of decorating the Christmas tree, did this. 😂💕 (He even got the positions right; Seabiscuit had crossed over to the rail by the time they reached the stretch.)

My hot take, which I can't post on FB because all my musical theater friends will yell at me, so I shout it out into the void here, is that the reason "Chess" the musical has never really worked as a play is NOT the book; it's the songs. And I love the songs (duh, I'm GenX). But they're the problem.
