If **Jeffrey Epstein** thinks you're a evil and demented sociopath, the odds are overwhelming that you are, in fact, an evil and demented sociopath.

My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far

Good news, although it's worth noting this still has to get through the senate, and is be surprised to see it manager that.

The Epstein files are clearly more damning than we assumed, which is saying something.

The momentum for the Epstein list was not slowing exactly, but kind of waiting. This will easily kick it back into gear.
BREAKING: House Oversight releases damning emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s Estate that allegedly show Donald Trump knew about Epstein’s conduct.

I break down the emails at issue and discuss their implications.

If they do not start getting held to account this will only get worse.
In an official statement released by DHS, they deny this ever happened.

Man the grief I had arguing with some people about Brexit. For some reason it rarely comes up in conversation anymore.
I wonder if the United States can learn anything from the last time a major industrialized country decided to isolate itself from the rest of the world?

Almost a decade after the Brexit vote, GDP in the UK is around 6-8% lower relative to peer countries. (Source: www.nber.org/papers/w34459)

This is just the stupidest shit.
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Trump administration appeals order to pay states full SNAP benefits for November.

For something Trump keeps blaming on Democrats, he’s working awfully hard to make sure families have nothing on the table this Thanksgiving.

This has to be a cope of the century. Truly epic.

Is this satire? I really can't tell anymore.

Trying to find accounts on X which attacked minorities and immigrants after the Cambridge train attack (were there any on Bluesky?), who have today posted in praise of Algerian-born, Samir Zitouni – the LNER employee who put his life on the line to save others. No luck so far.

This speech from Rachel Reeves is kind of frustrating because it shows that the Government can command the airwaves when it wants

That's something it has almost totally failed to do so far - over challenging racism, boosting the laws it has passed, tackling Reform, rebutting Tory ILR plans, etc etc

The news coming out of Sudan is literally some of the worst news of violence, torture and bloodshed in the last 30 years. It's on a scale not seen since the Rwandan genocide.

Holy crap that is breathtakingly cruel even by their standards
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

It's going to get much harder for the GOP to continue to pretend there's nothing they can do for SNAP when they will have to start literally arguing in court against actions they have been ordered to take to support it.

Yet not once have I heard Reform talk about this

Not once have I heard them back measures to protect women’s safety

In fact, they voted against them...

On the Andrew formally prince thing, I take great pleasure in knowing that he's probably feeling like the world is ending at the moment

I'm also quite depressed that no matter what happens he's going to be fine. He's still rich, and that's not going to change. He's lost very little real privilege.

He's shaken. China has shown him what happens when you can't just bully a country into submission.

I really wish the EU had shown some backbone as well.

What poor, misguided, nerdy, racist, white supremacist terrorist. The poor guy, honestly.
Wow - those are quite phenomenal headlines given the details of the story.

Ahh look, he’s just a ‘nerdy’ guy. No harm done.
