New PreTeXt feature: Handouts!

If you use guided notes in your teaching, or just want to make accessible versions of the printouts you bring to class, you can now author these in #PreTeXt and print directly from the browser (or save as PDF to annotate on a tablet).

This fall I'm going to use master/specification grading in two new courses. So can someone remind me where the big online repository of learning targets for all math courses is? Or if there isn't one, could someone please make that? Or help me make it?

I wish Discrete Math was taught in high school. It was one of my favorite classes. Esp binary relations changed the way I thought about the world. Even now I have a habit of turning irl things into binary relations and thinking about if they're symmetric, antisymmetric, transitive, reflexive +more😅
A reminder that this way to teach maths is a choice. Other choices are possible. I was good at calculating as a kid, but what I really loved was ideas and puzzles, and luckily I was given many.

Excellent thread.
People with dyscalculia will be traumatized away from math, develop intense anxiety about it, *long before* the ever reach the point where dyscalculia stops being an issue.

Hey #iTeachMath folks, has anyone tried asking students to use AI chat bots as a "thinking partner" to help them understand a topic? Prompts like, "pretend you are another student in my calculus class asking me to explain limits".
This sort of thing just helped me figure out a hard problem I had.

NPR reported this morning that DOGE has already saved around $2 BILLION!!! Just think: if that goes back to tax payers, we could all see almost $6 per person. But that's just using regular math. If you use DOGE math, its $6,000 per person!

I feel so much better now.
