Scariest and funniest thing about Trump is that he could get everything he wanted from Europe with the regular levers of power the US has quietly exerted for 80 years but he goes about it in the way most likely (but still far from guaranteed) to cause real resistance to US hegemony.

If the DEA had killed 80 innocent Americans in the course of apprehending one drug dealer, there would be riots. But we are so ghoulishly indifferent to the lives and humanity of people abroad that it's barely even part of the conversation.
A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.

There have been many lows for the the Nobel Peace Prize committee but I think this is probably their most pathetic blunder.

Our liberal foreign minister just went above and beyond hollow platitudes and mealy-mouthed concerns and said this was a well executed raid against a tyrant. Maybe a bit questionable but it's really just NATO nation sovereignty we care about Trump respecting.
