someone very well meaning tagged me in one of those “fic year in review” games. Which was lovely and thoughtful and I love a tag game!

But now I’m staring at my Ao3 realizing I barely finished any story I posted this year. And am thoroughly embarrassed with myself. So… may 2026 be a better year? 😅

I do love the details that are stitched into the construction of early #1820s outerwear. Whether it is the long pelisse or the short fitted spencer, the hand worked shoulder puffs and appliqués decorating the bodices are beautifully subtle #cincyartmuseum #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

I love reading a fic and getting the vibe that whoever wrote it has no concept of what a lot of snow is. No shade or nothing, I just love that little tell — like how my fiance thinks 3” of snow is a blizzard, but I’m like “14” plus 3” of solid ice”

It positively glows, this early 1890s tea gown by Emile Pingat. The variegated black & yellow silk creates a kind of burnished hue, additional drama fashioned in full sleeves & high collar. It seems quite structured for a tea gown but it certainly makes a statement #NatGalleryAus #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

It’s the day after Christmas. Which means only two things:

1. rewatching The Green Knight (✨one year and Yuletide hence…✨)

2. messing about with yet another chef/restaurant AU fanfic #hrfic

Absolutely howling with laughter at the loon bit — because my Texan fiance did the EXACT SAME THING the first time he was in Maine with me 😂

Boy nearly fell off the dock into the fucking ocean over a bird 😂

So, at Christmas dinner, my sister and I both confessed to watching Heated Rivalry. And that she also wants a Raiders baseball hate

And then my mother confessed that her new guilty pleasure is The Summer I Turned Pretty.

So, all in all, a good day fandom wise in this house 😂

William Sandys was an antiquarian who published a collection of Christmas carols in the 19th century that turned out to be really influential.

what I planned to do today: work on my wedding dress

what I’m actually doing: calling the state police to try to get video of the person who hit my car and ran last night.

May you all have a better today than me.

Day 23 - Edward immediately regretted saying that he thought Ethel’s dress was quite an eye watering shade as they took a pre-Christmas stroll. All four of his sisters moved together as one and fixed him with a set of steely glares as they marched past him. 1/2

The fabric is described as lavender voile, which sounds as if it could be the name of a 1920s detective. The sheer drapery is decorated with bright pink spangles of flowers and bows, sparkles across pale background #goldsteinmuseum #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
