I just backed this and so should you! Val's writing is very good and WILL keep you wanting to read, I promise.

Also the cover is just so good, don't you want it on your shelf?

I've around four chapters of Death by the Bayou left to write! In those chapters I've got to...
- Kill one more person
- Have Jane flip her lid
- Write the parlor (parlour?) scene
- Write the epilogue, aka Chapter 13

All within....I think ~6k words? I hope.

This might be an odd hill to die on, but one of the children's books I remember the most was The Hobbit! Is it for children? Maybe not. But given the fact I was gifted the complete collection of Sherlock Holmes at the age of ten, I can assure you I was an odd child.

Hey howdy! I'm Artie (or Arthur), a hopeful mystery writer currently working on my first manuscript for the first Jane Doe book Death by the Bayou.
My writing goal for this month is to actually finish it and work on finding an editor! And maybe start on the second one...

everyone's always writing about assassins wracked with guilt and more people should write about assassins who treat it like a 9-5

Update, the something's developed into at least five chapters of what I'm now calling 'Death by the Bayou'. Tldr, Jane Doe gets forcibly sent on vacation down to Louisianna. There's a ghost tour, a murder mystery night...And plenty of death!

CALL YOUR FUCKING CONGRESS PEOPLE RIGHT NOW. IT'S A SATURDAY. YOU GET TO JUST LEAVE A MESSAGE. SCRIPT I'M USING IS BELOW:
Sen. Mike Lee has introduced the SCREEN ACT, a bill that applies the "harmful to minors" standard used to ban LGBTQ+ books and resources in schools and libraries... and apply it nationally—to the internet.

Under the guise of protecting kids from "pornography"

The deer episode of Adventure Time is...Unnerving. But oddly, one of my favorites. Very much fits into the group of 'parody' episodes, cause like...Is it just me, or is that NOT the Walking Dead?

Today on, 'the things that my husband does not know': the absolute stranglehold that cinnamon flavored things has on me. Cinnamon gum? Check. Cinnamon mints? Check. Cinnamon toothpaste? Almost, but not yet. Unless that's going too far.
