One of the downy woodpeckers has returned! What a cutie. About the size of a plump sparrow or finch, and while I didn't have an opportunity to measure its beak I don't think the bird or its beak are big enough for it to be a hairy woodpecker. #birds

Oh my God turnout in little ol *Oregon City* is MASSIVE. Seven city blocks, both sides of the street, several people deep, easily WELL over 2000 in a town with a population of around 38K. I have lived here since 1993. Trust me when I tell you this unbelievable for this little purple town. #NoKings

TWO downy woodpeckers were checking out the feeder outside my office window when I pulled the curtain aside! I was just as surprised as they were. I hope they come back, they're lovely little birds. The chickadees and juncos have already returned. Not scared of anything, those little guys. #birds

Went to Kaiser Sunnyside to get our flu and COVID shots yesterday and the gas station at the corner of the offramp and Sunnyside Blvd had a big sign that said EXOTIC SNACKS and I cannot stop thinking about it.
