I got a C in "Citizenship" (which was our 70s version of deportment) in 3rd grade and the teacher underlined "Accepts responsibility" to indicate that I was lacking. And it was true. And I'm still salty about that mark, but I do recognize that trait in myself and try to be better about it.

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the day we got a beloved dog who died too soon at age 10, and I looked at his picture and burst into tears and wept all morning. My current (beloved) dog was very worried that I'd lost my mind. I was a little worried, too. Things have been...a lot.

Just got my first one on Wednesday. I was fine until about 10 Thursday morning, and then crashed hard on the couch for the next 12 hours. But a friend had shingles and it was AWFUL so when the nurse said "Do you want your shingles shot today?" I said "Uhhh you betcha."

It's really good! Moody, spooky, puzzling.

The first time I saw the throwback unis on TV I shot straight up off the couch and yelled ""NO PANTS?!?!"

Our kid's band director said "Football is for those who couldn't make it in band." I was a cheerleader and I love football, but I wouldn't trade being a band mom for anything! Good times. Clarinets FTW!

I'm also an LA kid and my 4th grade ambition was to pitch for my beloved Dodgers. But anyone who spanks the Yankees is A-OK in my book, so while I'm definitely rooting for Dodger Blue it would be OK for Toronto to have a little World Series, as a treat.
