Conference organizers: If you want people who work outside of academia (or financially secure company), to give a talk at your conference bc you value their expertise, it's unreasonable to make them pay for registration. Artists/Nonprofit folks do not have the funding to pay you to share expertise.

TIL: Netflix customer service agents aren't allowed to voice their own complaints about Netflix. I can't imagine anyone likes the new household lockout system.. The agent I just spoke to certainly didn't. I also lodged a complaint about that.

If you buy one of everything from #Booth449 at #GenCon2025, it'll be 136 pounds, and we'll give you as many free tote bags as it takes to carry them.
$5300 if you get there when the booth opens Thursday!

If you buy out the entire booth, yes, that'd be well over a ton of fantastic indie TTRPGs.
If you’re at Gen Con, IPR is the place to pick up Perils & Princesses and the Ennie-nominated campaign Sweet Revenge, along with a ton of other fantastic indie TTRPGs
Here's the list of 184 products from 108 of our member publishers we'll have in #Booth449 at #GenCon2025, including a link to download
a 36 page PDF or ePub with short descriptions of all of them, in case you wanted a little travel reading.

The Japanese artist Masayo Fukuda hand-cut this incredible life-sized octopus from one sheet of paper. Known as Kirie in Japanese (translated as “cut picture”), the traditional art form involves cutting intricate forms from a single sheet of white paper and contrasting it against a dark background.

Trans rights are human rights.

Also, I care way more about potentially working with Marceline and other great designers, etc. than “offending ‘potential customers’.”
Wanna know what would be sick?

If boardgame publishers publicly stated “trans rights are human rights”

I want to see which publishers I should avoid working with

This is one of the best reviews of a board game I've ever seen. youtu.be/xJApU3RRNhs?...

It's especially valuable for designers working to understand what kinds of theming goes with their mechanics; and why cheap theming or the dismissal of "oh the publisher will just retheme it" is a cop-out.

I have recently solidified a negative opinion of a game company I’ve had for a while now. Unsurprising but disappointing.

Related, I don’t believe that it’s the onus of the comedian to explain the joke if some people don’t get it. Especially when most of the audience does.
