Liberal and proud of it. Never obey fascists in advance. Make them bleed for every inch of ground. If I put you on a list, it's because I want to make sure I'm reading your posts at some point. He/him/fella.

Hey, everybody? We're in this contest now. Act accordingly.
"Detailed policy positions are great, but if people don’t understand you or relate to you, your policy positions are worthless. Democrats need to stick with simple messages and then repeat, repeat, repeat."

It's amazing what people will do to ignore basic facts.
Homelessness will only decrease when the problem is resolved by getting politicians to adopt what works elsewhere, e.g., Finland's Housing First Strategy.

Liberal policies succeed.

Conservative policies fail.

It really is that simple.

Unfortunately, too many of us need a refresher course on this very basic fact and we all have to take that class again. 😒

I'm with George.
I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.

I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/

Social media is just getting ridiculous. LinkedIn just invited me to follow Snoop Dogg there.

I'm going to be more active here eventually, but right now there are way too many annoying takes flying around, even in a nice place like this.

One drum that I will bang like the entire drum corps is how to fight back, especially exploiting the enemy's weaknesses. That's good information to have.

Question for the floor: How do lists work around here? I never used them much at the bad place, but I like it a lot better here than there and maybe even Farcebook, so I'm wondering if I can use it to curate my feeds.

Important reading.
I, like many of you, have been contemplating our predicament since election night.

We are in a losing war for our democracy and I'm not sure we collectively know who our true adversary is.

It's not the voting blocks...white women, Latinos, Gen X. It's not MAGA. It's not even Trump.

Wow! I've pretty much quadrupled my followers since the middle of the day Saturday! Welcome one and all!

And as long as I've got your attention, I just want to say one very important thing:

QUIT !@#$ING NORMALIZING THAT THEY'RE UNSTOPPABLE!

WOW. I've picked up nearly 400 followers this weekend! Thanks to all of you!

I'm just going to say it's up to us -- and those of us beyond here who we can make common cause with -- to save this country and this world. So let's get to it.

It really, really sucks the more you think about it, but this isthe truth now.
The 4 of the #FiveEyes: Australia, Canada, New Zealand & the United Kingdom, had better be making plans about what intel they share w/the US if they don’t want it 2 end up w/#Putin or #MBS. Just sayin’.

I plan on using the block function as often as needed over here.
Sometimes you have even less than one shot, since I frequently block people I see being dickheads on other people's comment threads. That's right! I don't wait for you to be a dick to me! Being a dick to just about anyone will do!
If you're coming here to troll, you basically have one shot. One opportunity. Then you'll end up on a block list. Do you really want your one shot to be complaining about pronouns in a video game. Lol

Yup.
What should be our drumbeat for the immediate future: Trump is already failing, everything he does is a mess, things were better under the Dems, he’s the most corrupt administration in history.

More will be filled in later but I think those are the most potent lanes.

Do not buy into Republican framing. Ever.

That makes even less sense than gas station sushi.
All these "Democrats abandoned the working class" are just people buying into the Republicans' framing of every issue. Dems didn't sell how they helped the working class as well as Republicans sold their lies, but they sure as shit didn't abandon workers.

FYI
I just want to point out that Colorado went above and beyond to pass laws protecting trans kids this year and the result was them holding the House supermajority and keeping the Senate majority while losing zero seats (flipping one, and losing the one that was the guy who changed parties)
the thing about people saying dems need to throw trans people under the bus is that they already did that when they refused to even offer a counter argument to the decade long dehumanization campaign waged by the right
