A couple thoughts on Matt Gaetz, who I’ve known since high school and college debate.

1. He was a poor debater. (I was an All-American, making name at least a fair critic). He was nowhere near nationally competitive in an activity filled with America’s best, brightest young minds.

As a Jesus follower, I can’t understand caving on health care funding.

I especially can’t understand doing it when your opposition was holding food for poor, hungry kids (among other things) hostage unless you cave on health care.

Disappointing isn’t strong enough.

Dismayed. Devastated.

Lots of gold.

No food for poor kids.
I really think what’s needed here is more gold.

How the billionaire you elected acts when hungry kids need food and millions of Americans might lose their health care.

The President wants to nuke the filibuster to end the shutdown and take health care away from millions of Americans but at least he put a tacky sign outside the Oval Office.

At thr heart of failed resistance to Trump is the colossal failure of Democrats to defend New Deal and Great Society egalitarian economic ideals.

Democrats consistently capitulate to corporate, anti-worker interests.

I wrote about my Dad, fatherhood, loss, and why the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is so much more than a football game to Georgia and Florida fans.

The Cocktail Party isn't just a game. For Florida and Georgia fans, it marks the time
The Cocktail Party is about so much more than football, as Georgia vs. Florida (or Florida vs. Georgia) brings families together.

Good morning to everyone except folks who think holding SNAP funding hostage for hungry kids unless you agree to cripple health care for millions of Americans is an ethical or Jesus following or “pro life” policy.

people in a lot of states are about to lose their SNAP benefits. If you are in a position to help with food aid, please do. Donate to a local food pantry, reach out to people you know who are food insecure and share meals, whatever you can do!

Autism parent here.

Nothing like your health savings account running out after 5 months and 2,500 in therapy sessions deductibles remaining anyway
We love hitting our health insurance deductible three months into the plan year.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but:

1. Autism isn’t a tragedy

2. Autism being largely genetic isn’t a sign of “de-evolution” and it’s dehumanizing to autistic people to suggest it is.
