Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

I think Trump probably rightly think despite their rhetoric Europe can be pushed around. They

I think they can be pushed around.

The US probably can take Greenland without a fight from Denmark when it comes down to it (not saying occupation would be easy but conquest likely will be).

I’m not a fan of the populist right anywhere, but I have always said that I felt like there were more principal involved in it in Europe. Le Pen’s statement backs that up. She clearly is very against the US actions.

Remember the reason that Venezuela was so ripe for Chavez and Maduro is because of American exploitation of the country for decades.

I don’t think there is a popular majority in that country willing to back someone who is pro-American. Even if they didn’t like Maduro.

interesting thinking here and honestly, it would not shock me. For years the US has done things in terms of foreign policy or even using dollar diplomacy that has had the hidden in hand of Saudi Arabia behind it.
Fact: The US has snuggled up to Saudi Arabia and is now bombing another OPEC member, Venezuela. The US is also threatening another OPEC member, Iran.

This is planned by MBS and Trump.

It’s obvious that despite the entire MAGA movement claiming they were anti-war, the idea of going all Teddy Roosevelt, and making the Caribbean in American lake again appeals to Trump-backing bro set that are doing such damage to the western world.

Worst thing about the current state of college athletics is everything Will Wade once did would be considered perfectly legitimate today…

which means NC State will probably win a ton in the next few years

and of course, College basketball never changes. Pitt has that 20 to 0 run yet Miami sort of matches that run out of the locker room with Reneau back in the second half and wins.
Pitt 20-0 run at the Watsco v Miami - wow.

I’m behind in the game, so no spoilers but Miami without Reneau (foul trouble) is awful.

Tonight was our final bargaining session of 2025. With the CBA set to expire tomorrow and no agreement reached - we wanted to speak directly to you - the fans.

You've probably seen bits and pieces of this process along the way. So we wrote this letter for you:

The media playing this Fiesta Bowl 2003 narrative all week has the same exact song in my head as that week - Ray Parker Jr’s “You can’t change that.”

Let’s remember this game which I recall well instead!

I love how Arsenal fans love to cry poverty for their club - they have the highest ticket prices in the world and have therefore disenfranchised their traditional working class supporter base - and have spent more on transfers than anyone the last few windows it seems.Even more than City & Chelsea.

without Cash and Kamara, this was an impossible ask for Villa today. They just don’t have the depth to absorb losing those two in addition to having both really good center backs out- I still think for them the match against Chelsea was a six pointer and they got the result so that’s what mattered
December 30, 2025 at 10:14 PM
additionally I would add their very green and naive ownership group probably doesn’t understand that winning the world club cup doesn’t reflect at all on how you can compete over 38 match days in the league. I think they got carried away with that triumph.
there is so much wrong with Chelsea right now. I don’t cover the Premier League anymore very closely so I haven’t dove into it but I think I could make a real strong tactical article about Chelsea’s lineup choices and their personnel choices in general.

nothing separates the top two teams in England at halftime. Really has been an engrossing first half.

Big call for Unai Emery. I assumed with Cash suspended he would move Lindelöf to right back but he’s not doing that.
