Excited for more people to get hands-on and finally realize what we’ve known for the last two years: Board is a truly magical game console, and is very exciting for both players and developers. www.wargamer.com/board/game-c...
The 'Board' game console could be the next Nintendo Wii, and I'm not exaggerating
Seeing a live demonstration has changed my scepticism into eager anticipation - Board could change how we play videogames, and open new avenues of innovation for board game designers.

Personally, I think it was the face plates. Consoles with removable face plates kick ass.
The Xbox 360 succeeded because we focused on what gamers and game developers wanted.

Not what publishers wanted. Not building a “something-else killer”. Not what Windows wanted. We enabled game developers to make great games people wanted to play.
20 years ago today Xbox 360 launched. The power was never the console - it was you. You camped out at midnight, built lasting communities, and showed us what gaming could mean. You made that generation endure for two decades. Thank you.

A closeted queer woman contends with her grief, alongside the complete erosion of her private life and independence.

Her world is over, and everybody knows. But nobody understands.

Hot take: Fame breeds mediocrity, because those who come into influence often believe it merits them to be above critique, and have the power to reject it without consequence (and possibly punish those who would offer it).

This applies to both creative and non-creative fields.
Everyone should have an editor, ideally - at least for a little while - one who doesn't like them very much

Y'all, I know two hours is a big time commitment, but this panel I arranged and hosted last month is one of the most important things I've ever done for video game history. The launch of the NES is a crazier story than most people realize, and my guests were extremely generous with their memories.

I won’t lie: I love everything about this trailer, up to the point where they all have to start shooting each other with guns, because ultimately this is still a video game about shooting each other with guns.
Ignoring the money vortex app Tapped Out, there hasn’t been a proper Simpsons game in 18 years! But in 2025 there aren’t full licensed games anymore, so instead you get a massive season of Fortnite with piecemeal content that’ll cost way more than a $60 game. Simpsons isn’t half assing the crossover

i’m continually struck by the joy zohran has brought to this election and the absolute venom with which it’s been met.
For New Yorkers who work the night shift, it can be nearly impossible to participate in political life of our city.

So tonight we’re bringing this campaign to them — starting with taxi drivers waiting at LaGuardia.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

As soon as the Portland Frog became a meme, Jewish social media blew up with jokes about the 2nd Passover plague - tzefarde'a (frogs) - and the Rabbinical commentary around it. I knew I had to make a calligraphy piece encompassing all of it. (more in alt.)

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Wow end of an era indeed. I started my career working on Facebook games, and they’re still the majority of my portfolio:

Scramble, Cafe World, City of Wonder, Gardens of Time, Plants vs. Zombies Adventures…

All those titles lost in time. Like tears in rain.
I got an email today that Facebook is shutting down web games. That certainly has big end of an era vibes — the first commercial game I worked on was a FB Flash game at Zynga.
