Polar bears a BIG. This one had pass through only a few hours prior. #mammals 🌿
The large snowshoe-footprints of a polar bear coming down a snowy hill. A front paw-print of a polar bear in the snow. My black-gloved hand for reference. It's about a quarter of the size of the print. The back paw-print of a polar bear in the snow. My hiking booted foot for comparison. It is about 1/4 the size of the print.

Back home after another fantastic photography trip to #Iceland (my 34th!).

Stopped along the south coast yesterday on my way back - these river estuaries are just incredible.

An incredibly intricate and colourful network of river braids as they reach the estuary. There are streams that are yellow and blue at the bottom and at the top yellow and orange. The landscape around is black sand with some orange deposits. Quite surreal and absolutely beautiful!

#OTD 1867, Marie Curie was born.

During WWI, Curie created a vehicle that contained a hospital bed, a generator, an X-ray machine and photographic darkroom equipment. These “petite Curies" (below) could be driven right up to the Front. Curie also helped train 150 women as radiology technicians.
