Here's a photo I took of incarcerated firefighters resting after fighting a wildfire in SoCal. They get paid $2-$5/day for that work. With Republicans likely allowing federal firefighter pay to be cut soon, many may quit, forcing California to increase its reliance on its incarcerated workforce.
