It reminds me of my first labor organizing job when my trainer said "The thing that's different about labor is that you just have to organize who's here" and to some extent, the older I get, the more I realize that's true everywhere.

Frank Wilhoit seems very topical today: "Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protectes but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect."

"A focus on earning power reinforces existing prejudices...The pursuit of capitalist-defined strengths risks excluding people with a learning disability from the neurodiversity narrative.

And researchers are driven to use economic arguments to demonstrate the value of their work."
Neurodiversity is Anti-Capitalist
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the concept of “strengths”, and the way we define them, in relation to neurodiversity.

Intersectional, multi-front coalitions mean trusting that even if other the people in the coalition aren't working on Your Segment of the problems, they're still on your side. In fact, they kind of require it. And that goes for friendships and other more intimate interpersonal relationships, too.

I made a thing!

I was playing around with the AT protocol and as a little experiment I made a website that visualises activity around Bluesky: nightsky.hctr.dev

It listens to all new posts and shows them as little stars across a night sky 🌃

Every star is someone, somewhere, posting something
Nightsky | hctr.dev
See live conversations from all over Bluesky as a dynamic night sky

Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

Also me: I cannot remember to eat on a regular basis.

I’ve been reflecting on a motto from Valencia flood coverage, originating in Machado’s letter to Vygodski — solo el pueblo salva al pueblo, only the people save the people. The past few years have left me disillusioned with so many institutions, yet I feel like I’ve never believed in people more.
