Filmmaker currently listening to orange cat opera
My very first post on here was the crowdfunding link for this film so it feels very appropriate that I should return to the app after completely failing to engage so I can post the link to the finished product:

Stuck in a scene? Do what the pros do: use brackets. Write what the story beat is:

[Our hero gets out of the fight through clever means]

Then just keep writing what happens after. Maintaining momentum is key to getting the most words on the page. Meanwhile solutions often present themselves later.

If you can help, please do. Pretty monstrous stuff here. Arrested at her scheduled green card meeting after having gotten married. We are in Hell.

Love Gary
Over the last decade I've had the privilege of becoming close friends with legendary genre director Gary Sherman. He won't see this, as social media ain't his thing, but today is his 80th birthday and I know he'd love it if you checked out or revisited one of his films. Much love and many more Gary!

The disparity btwn what’s actually happening in Los Angeles and the way it’s being mischaracterized is one of the biggest stress tests of modern media in recent memory. Botted socials, AI, old clips, declining literacy—it’s like seeing a broken emergency response system hit by a storm.

Thousands of New Yorkers march in lower Manhattan calling for ICE out of New York.

Starting at Foley Square and organized by PSL, the masses have flooded the streets and are moving west. This demo is permitted but even if it wasn’t, it would be far too large for NYPD to contain.

Why we all got to keep making our art, even in the dark days ahead. If for no other reason than as an act of protest to make our friends happy.
When things look abysmal, I look to my friends making wonderfully cool shit and it gives me something to shine about even in dark days 💚

Why taint your feeds with news of the Orange when I can instead honor this real one? RIP to one of my heroes.

As a female, I always thought Joe Rogan was hard to listen to because he’s super fucking annoying. Should have known it was my tiny little lady brain not letting me appreciate his big time intelligent manly ideas. Should’ve known.
oh thank you for thinking of us and our little frazzled brains, Jon, I tried listening to a whole podcast but I kept getting distracted by redoing my makeup and curling my hair

Still thinking about Lila Shapiro’s tremendous piece on Neil Gaiman and the betrayal one feels when an artist whose work resonated with you turns out to be a monster in the dark.

A real bummer of a thing to find on your bingo card. Sexual assault leaves deep scars and sharp edges. My heart goes out to those women as they find their path to healing.

Avoid mixing up writer culture with hustle culture. Books don’t write themselves, but food & rent cost money. Find a work/life/writing balance that makes sense for you and never feel like if you aren’t writing on any given day - especially work days - means you are failing in some way. You aren’t.

Writing became a lot easier for me when I stopped being precious about what I put down on paper. The first draft may be wet ass, but I can’t fix it if it’s not there.
The most important thing in writing is to finish. A finished thing can be fixed. A finished thing can be published. A finished thing can be made into a movie.

An unfinished thing is just a dream. And dreams fade if you don't hold on tight enough.

So finish the thing.

This is all the more reason people need to get the fuck off Twitter ASAP.

If the Swifties can do it so can journalists and our politicians
very cool that the federal government is now a wholly owned subsidiary of elon musk. they probably will try to make it illegal to not advertise on twitter too.
