Stephanie’s win flips control of the city council from Republicans, and solidifies a solid progressive block that will have wide leverage to affect city politics over the next few years. Incredibly proud of the work my chapter put into this campaign.
Congratulations to Stephanie Telles for her solid victory in the race for City Council District 1! We look forward to working with her to deliver meaningful policies from city council to address issues of affordability and equitable development in Albuquerque!

folks, it is now official because of Stephanie Telles' victory: DSA will end the year with a greater than 50% win rate. it ends the year with 51 endorsed wins, and 50 endorsed losses.

this is the first time it has accomplished more wins than losses in an off-year election cycle.

Albuquerque DSA is proud to have endorsed Rep. Chavez and we stand by her criticisms of ICE. ICE has been out of control, kidnapping community members from hospital beds and terrorizing families in their schools, workplaces, and homes. ICE is beyond reformation and must be abolished.

OUR VIEW: The notion that a caller would leave a message demanding City Councilor Alma Castro stop speaking Spanish at city meetings would be laughable if the current times weren’t so contentious. sfnm.co/3VsnSP1
No Spanish in Santa Fe? What a terrible idea

The issue at stake is that support for traditional progressive Dem campaigns is virtually evaporated among younger voters, and that void either pushes zoomers towards far right politics or to ultra leftist outlooks. I think SoR has closer politics to DSA’s <25 base than we would prefer to think
gw & smc have misread whats going on inside of dsa since like 2022, but i dont think your caucus or others on the left have any understanding of the terrain outside of the org or the student activist world

Headline is extremely misleading, he clearly has no meaningful regret or remorse towards Biden admin actions and is even vague about whether the "tragedy" he refers to is the ongoing slaughter and starvation of Palestinians or just October 7th.
