ICYMI: "[W]hy, if some of my favorite bands from the 1990s (and beyond) are so influenced by Minutemen, had I never listened to them?"

@noahspringer.com explores the connections between his favorite music and Minutemen:
A Lynchpin - Unwinnable
“How,” you may ask yourself, “did Noah, music critic of a sort, make it to almost 40 years and never run across this incredibly influential band?”

My confession about not knowing about Minutemen until about two months ago, but learning about how much they rule has been awesome!

@ibogost.com feels like something you’ve noticed too!
Was at car dealership today. Noticed something funny. The normal cars had door poppers and overwhelming screens. The $120,000 car had physical door handles and tons of buttons.

May be obvious but I speculated years ago this would happen. Electronics cheaper than craftsmanship, because it is.

Implication that Muggsy Bogues will be forgotten to history? I’d never accept that erasure
He's the sports jersey pope now. 1000 years from now historians will be going through the Vatican archives trying to figure out who the Charlotte Hornets were.
Spike Lee just blessed Pope Leo with a custom Knicks jersey during his visit to the Vatican, just one week after the Pope was gifted a custom Chicago Bulls one.
