This reminds me of when Marv Newland of international rocketship organized a collab between 22 animators all over the world. Hope adult swim does more of these projects.

I hope Lee ostertag is able to get the rights back to her show and redevelop it as an indie show because we need more big name show creators going independent and I feel like we need to do creator and fan driven indie shows.

Hot take I believe independent animation is the future of the industry. The major studios won’t completely disappear but they will shrink down in terms of productions and will focus on nostalgic adults and preschool but indie is going to take over the other demographics as older kids and adults

This once again highlights how Hollywood is behind the times not only in the fact that kids are overwhelmingly watching YouTube indie pilots over major studio shows(with a handful of exceptions). But also in the fact that kids like horror games like FNAF and poppy playtime over many modern Disney

Hot take. Limiting your media diet to kids shows is frankly unhealthy and it results in people who compare the tamest dog ball comedy to freaking a Serbian film and Salo 120 days of sodom. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy bluey but healthy consumption is a balance @gnawsomeopossum.bsky.social
There are a lot of adults who've limited their media diet to MLP and Bluey and have absolutely no ability to process narratives more complex than those made for toddlers who now fancy themselves media critics and point at anything that makes them uncomfortable and call it problematic. 🙃
One of the main reasons I don't really talk about animation as much as I'd like to is because it feels like at least half of the discussion online is occupied by people called "BlueyYesCaillouNo2013 VGCP" who can't handle any narrative heavier than the episode of Sesame Street where Mr. Hooper dies.

Absolutely agree. I’m hoping this movie thrives and continues to stay on the Netflix top 10 so that we can get more adult animated features on feature budgets like maybe a common side effects type movie or genndys own black knight. We need more adult animated features in the US

the fact people say violent shit about the animators who worked on Fixed and just assume the worst of them shows that they do not give a flying fuck about the animation industry and only see animators as cogs in a machine. No other industry people get shit on as much as the animation industry.

Poor Fixed has the worst timing coming out in the middle of PSG S2.
I can’t help but feel like Panty & Stocking is eating its lunch a little.
