The reality is that the mainstream studio industry of 1993 is permanently shrinking with new technology and new platforms. And I highly suggest not to pitch shows to major studios until you have a completed animatic with already proven viewership because this is the model going forward. The major

Currently in negotiations with several Major Studios to potentially become an orginal older skewing show on a streaming service. This being based off a proven animatic that got 4 million views is often where major studios are looking for with “new IPs”. This is what the new model is essentially

This is because indie pilots are much more easily accessible and don’t require a paid subscription service to watch. Many adults don’t want to pay for a subscription service for their 8 year old and just dump them in front of YouTube. Indie pilots and horror games are easy to access as a result.

Some of these indie pilots and indie creations even outperform major studio cartoons in YouTube views. For example knights of Guinevere got 10 million views in less than 24 hours and art of murder got 1 million views in less than a week. Meanwhile stugo videos get 12k views per video

People need to watch more adult media and more media that challenges them. Have a healthy balance. I’m able to watch office space and owl house and K-pop demon hunters and Monty python without problems because I have a balance out media. It’s not healthy to only watch kids shows then compare

Btw the studios think that they have enough properties and they want to be able to make spinoffs but not paying the writers or directors more than like a one time fee and make lots of money off of merch sales without paying the creatives @karlrolson.com they also believe they have enough IPs

@karlrolson.com agreed a huge problem is that the studios don’t know how to capitalize on fandoms because they are stuck in 1995 and not considering YouTube views on fandom beloved series. Also they believe that they have enough IP to last forever and they feel they can coast off nostalgia.
