[On the bench today ⚒️ #BehindTheScenes]

Somewhere between here and Jupiter, #EuropaClipper is carrying an engraved plate with the waveforms of "water" in 103 languages. And here I am in the studio, putting those same waveforms onto a sterling silver pendant 😎

The deadline for responding to this consultation (about whether we should shovel even greater heaps of bureaucratic misery onto immigrants in the hope of pacifying racists) is midnight on Thursday 12th:
The UK government is proposing radical and punitive changes to settlement rules. This is settlement, not citizenship. The consultation is open until 12 February; please respond to it and oppose these evil proposals. Amnesty have a good guide: www.amnesty.org.uk/resources/gu...
Guidance for responding to 'A Fairer Pathway to Settlement' consultation

👋🌿WELCOMING SPRING🐦🎶

In the traditional calendar spring has arrived.
During 'Risshun' (立春) the 'east wind melts the ice' (東風解凍 Feb 4th-8th), 'bush warblers begin singing in the mountains' (黄鶯睍睆 9-13th), and mysteriously 'fish emerge from the ice' (魚上氷 14-18th).

Some mudlarking finds survived for centuries in the muddy banks of the River Thames. Others are freshly baked tasty snacks. 🍪

This biscuit (cookie) set recreates ten of the 350+ mudlarked objects in London Museum's Secrets of the Thames exhibition.

The exhibition closes on 1 March. Don’t miss it!

I haven’t posted for a week… that’s because last Sunday we said goodbye to our beloved dog Ada. It was very sudden and unexpected and has left us heartbroken. She was our very best friend.

Last row knitted of my Lindal Skjort!
🇳🇿🧶.
Now to weave in the ends... so many ends. I couldn't make the carrying and floats work.
When I get home, it will be time to pick up the 196 stitches, provisionally cast on, and then graft together. Then elastic. Then sew the waistband down.
