Bardzo trafna diagnoza, ale bez konkretnych propozycji zmian.
Wspierana przez obecny system kultura „publikuj lub giń” przyczynia się do wielu patologii w nauce. Bibliometryczna ocena dorobku stwarza warunki do rozwoju drapieżnych czasopism. Powoduje również rozwój „spółdzielni cytowań”. Doprowadziło to do zjawiska nazwanego kryzysem replikacyjnym.
