It’s quite funny that Finns have found a way to help Ukrainians by drinking boatloads of beer. A Ukrainian brewery, Obolon, claims that Finland has become one of their most prominent export markets. Iikka’s post is a great example of how that came about. The first batch arrived in July 2022.

Noah Smith has written the most plausible theory I have seen on what drives the current American foreign policy. Unfortunately, we live in very interesting times and to make the best decisions we need to have a realistic analysis of what is going on.

Now that Assad and the Russians are out of Syria, the Persian Gulf States might actually be able to make this Qatar-Turkey Pipeline happen.
This would help Europe reduce dependency on Russia energy imports and it would eliminate Iran's perpetual threat against ships near the Strait of Hormuz.

Just donated money to the Ukrainian Safe Skies initiative. This is a very cost-efficient and innovative way to protect Ukranians from the constant barrage of drones by detecting them early as they enter Ukraine. The aim is to deploy 12,000 sensors of which 5000 have already been rolled out.
