There's this guy down the street from me who sells fruits and vegetables from his truck during the warm months, and I absolutely love that there's 20 years of Street View imagery of him in the same spot with the same truck, more permanent than most of the neighborhood's brick and mortar businesses.

My estimation of how good a Starfleet Academy ep is basically comes down to "how much are Elon Musk and Stephen Miller going to hate this." All of Season One's episodes were written and filmed way before MAGA took over Paramount. I'll need to find a new calculus for S2. If it doesn't get shelved.

My theory of the moment: The extraordinary courage of ordinary people in places like Minneapolis is reawakening us to our social and economic ties to immigrants. It's making "love thy neighbor" cool again. That's the ultimate antidote to MAGA hate.
