Disabled people are not expendable.

Disabled people are not lazy.

Disabled people are not “choosing” to be sick.

Disabled people deserve healthcare, social supports & accommodation.

These are not controversial concepts. Ableism & health supremacy tell you otherwise.

Fight with us. Fight for us.

Here's the thing, people do NOT like rich people, and they espically don't like Elon. But the problem has always been there's nothing we can do against them. But what this is showing is that this small collective action is hurting him, and that's gold dust to us.

Don’t let this administration take away your joy. Yes, what they’re doing is wrong and terrifying, but don’t let them take away the one thing that’s yours. Surround yourself with community. Do things you love. Yes, things look bleak, and you also need joy. Don’t let them take that away.

ok, cis folks—if you said you'd stand with trans folks, it's time.

S.9 is the senate's sports ban bill—a big step to making trump’s executive order a federal law, which is much harder to undo. it can be stopped *monday.*

short call scripts for dem & GOP senators ⬇️🧵

a cloture vote for the way-harder-to-undo-than-an-executive-order federal anti-trans sports ban is now set for monday. that means there's more time to make calls.

no on cloture means it doesn't get a vote. the GOP needs 7 dems to advance it.

please call. there is *so* much evil downstream of this.

This is what happens when you move fast & break things.

CDC is gagged. FDA too. Egg prices have skyrocketed because the U.S. aren’t trying to contain H5N1.

Pandemic prevention or preparedness is not a priority to this administration, and it’s going to cost lives.

It’s time to mask up.

There’s also the issue of public perception.

Anti mask sentiment is a problem and people have been harassed, assaulted, spit on & more just for wearing a mask.

When you pass a mask ban, even with a medical exemption, you reinforce the notion that masking is “wrong”.

It emboldens anti-maskers:

A number of folks are pointing out that there are medical exemptions to mask bans as though it makes these ugly laws “ok”.

Medical exemptions are wildly problematic. Police aren’t doctors and shouldn’t decide who’s medically justified in masking.

My chart is documented that I’m immune compromised & require staff to mask. The facility had a policy that if asked, staff will wear.

I was told “no I need to breathe to do my job”.

I stood firm & said I’m high risk and masks are required 🧵

Mask bans are the new 21st century Ugly Laws.

If you are nondisabled and are able to wear a mask/respirator, PLEASE DO as much as possible— in public, at events, and **especially** in healthcare settings. Normalize them.

When masks are illegal in public, disabled people are illegal in public.

Also if you’re masking - you can be reasonably certain you didn’t infect anyone else.

If you’re sick and struggling - please take comfort in that. You broke chains of transmission. You protected the people around you.

If more people cared enough to do that we would all be safer
