My main takeaway is that he travelled with the team, does he selected team as well as the squad.

If he is then I feel that a 'National Selector' on tour should have been taking those end of play press conferences instead of assistant coaches

This is exactly why my mum barged her way into the cockpit of every plane we ever got on.

She took down three air marshals last time, and then successfully landed a Boeing 747 on a French aircraft carrier which was on patrol in the South Pacific. Unfortunately the flight was meant to go to Luton.

See Mum all the time I spent gaming was to errr improve my eyesight..
Tom Kohler-Cadmore reckons he's improved since using a VR headset in his pre-match routine, specifically to train his eyes, since suffering a concussion at the 2022 PSL.

Concussion and eye function are linked - and data suggests both impact performance:

Tom Kohler-Cadmore uses a VR headset to train his eyes before games, a legacy initially of a serious concussion and its correlation with ocular function, but also now as a performance tool

You know that they say never meet your heroes at the casino bar in the hotel during what should have been day three of a Test you've flown to the other side of the world to watch

Grim reading I don't think anyone really begrudges them a night out and if they want to reduce their physical performance with alcohol that is their choice, judge on results but it does seem like there were a lot of nights out

Call me mad but this game seems a lot like Perth but with the roles reversed.

What’s stopping an under par Aussie third innings then a rapid Zak Crawley Hundred?

At least in Duncan Fletcher’s day they waited until the World Cup after the Ashes to get pissed and go on a Pedalo

The consistency of selection Crawley enjoys is that they feel he has rare strengths but if they drop him there is no chance he’d ever be able to force he way back with weight of runs

A Test like this is such a selection confirmer because England could have picked 5 XIs and they'd have done well at home Vs Zimbabwe.

Now if they haven't picked the XI (top seven really) they want Vs India they've got a problem as they will have to drop someone who has performed

He will of course be extoling the setups new found and deeply felt humility but there is no doubt that Bashir is taking down Muralitharan

England's batters should be looking at this as a big opportunity to get a few runs in the bank. Looks a decent pitch and the bowling isn't anything spectacular
