Been festively reading Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda. Maybe an odd choice for the season (lot of war crime chat), but great book.
Loads of depth and nuance in character and worldbuilding, and the art is gorgeous. Liking it a lot, even though I'm not always into harder fantasy.

Got to the point of typing this joke out again basically verbatim before I got hit by stabbing deja vu and realised I did it last year. Reliably never growing as a person.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, but hit the road for five years, taking the name Tim Reilly, only to return and discover he was the original and Kermit was the clone.

Didn't buy anything for other people on my Christmas Eve stroll round the shops, but did pick up the LOTR extended editions on DVD for a fiver. Maybe now I'll finally watch them.

This was nice to read as I claw my way to the end of a promising-but-not-there-yet first draft.
The entire time I was writing it I was like "oh my god this sucks, I suck, this is terrible" and I was making a list of all the ways it sucked.
That was NECESSARY to the fixing of the goddamn thing.
