I want to make a personal request to those of you who use a bike for transportation purposes to start taking more photos and posting them.

You can do so much by showing even the most mundane errands with a bike to educate and inspire others. They're often more effective than words. 📸

It should be illegal to build this much parking in one place. Any location which brings such a mass of people should be served by mass transit.
day 2:

dodger stadium's 16,000-spot parking lot is so huge, it could fit ~10 more dodger stadiums in its place. a monument to socal's asphalt addiction more than to baseball.

meanwhile in toronto, an actual walkable, bustling city exists around the stadium

When mayors or city decision-makers come to Vancouver, I have some key buildings I show them. This is one —stacked big box and mid-box retailers lined with small street-fronting shops/food, and rental homes above. The urban evolution of the “power centre,” already 20+ yrs old. Decongestion pricing traditionally gets more popular as the benefits are experienced. 😎
"More NYC residents now support the program than oppose it. About 42% said the toll should remain while 35% want it eliminated, according to Siena’s latest poll. That’s a reversal from December, when only 32% supported the $9 fee while 56% were against it."

I’d like to see this in my area of Winnipeg on streets like Fleet, Grosvenor and Kingsway (alternating directions). I’m sure it would benefit Wolseley and Westminster too and other areas I’m less familiar with.
Making your roads one way for cars can create space for cycling. Cycles here get a smooth red asphalt bike lane in each direction. Motor traffic uses this route to access several residential streets in one direction only, with paving to ensure slow speeds.

Anderson Cooper: So it's more expensive to allow a chronically homeless person to live on the streets than it is to actually subsidize an apartment for them?

Answer: Yes, we are paying more as taxpayers to walk past that person on the street & do nothing…

Canada’s economy is growing at a healthy rate, but heavy investments in the Canadian oil industry in the past two decades have skewed productivity figures typically used as indicators of growth.
