The White House plans to bar hospitals that treat transgender children and youth from getting any Medicare and Medicaid payments. The move would affect trans youth who have private insurance, too.

In reading about the tragic death of Lia Smith I was surprised that Fox News wrote anything at all. It was milquetoast, but what I find sickening is the comment section: what Fox's readers really think after years of the network's belligerent anti-trans agenda. (TW)

I thought "upstairs neighbors" bits were exaggerated but mine literally walk like their feet are made of lead (or at least one of them does) and, it seems, rearrange their furniture every other day

Instead of scolding people doing their best during this emergency, consider: helping instead! You can do alt text for people on the ground. You can point things out on maps or verify videos for people who are confused. There is absolutely stuff you can do from home to improve information quality.

I want to remind everyone that "cringe" as an insult emerged from the same sort of anti-social Internet culture that 4chan emerged and we should reject it as an insult.
After 2024, pundits brushed off the Resistance as cringe. I submit: Yes, it was. And cringe is good. Cringe, in fact, will save democracy.
